About
Housed in a group of historic houses in the heart of Brussels, the Fashion & Lace Museum preserves some 20,000 items of lace, clothing and accessories dating from the 16th century to the present day. Its collections remain the most important in the world in terms of Brussels design and fashion, which the museum presents within both Belgian and international contexts.
For conservation reasons, the textiles cannot be displayed permanently. The museum therefore presents its collections mainly through temporary exhibitions:
– Thematic: 40+ years of STIJL, Brussels Touch, Masculinities…
– Chronological: Kidorama, Glamour 30’s Fashion
– Monographic: Jules François Crahay. Back in the spotlight, Diane von Furstenberg. Woman Before Fashion
The collections of the Fashion & Lace Museum include exceptional pieces that highlight the quality and beauty of Brussels lace. A dedicated Lace Room invites visitors to discover the history and craftsmanship behind this unique textile.
