About

Petritegi Sagardotegia is one of the most iconic Basque cider houses (sagardotegi) located near San Sebastián in Astigarraga — the heart of Euskal Herria’s cider tradition. Dating back to 1526 and run by the Otaño-Goikoetxea family for generations, Petritegi offers a full cultural and gastronomic experience focused on the history, production, and tasting of natural Basque cider (sagardoa).

Visitors can dine in traditional cider house style with seasonal “txotx” service directly from wooden barrels, enjoy a guided tour of the cider production and cellars, explore the orchard and cider-making tools, and savor a classic sagardotegi meal featuring local specialties such as cod omelette, chorizo, txuleta (steak), and a variety of apple-based products.

Petritegi also includes a cider restaurant, a café, a shop, and experiences for groups such as tastings and menus that immerse visitors in Basque cider culture from orchard to barrel to table
