Flamenco has always been an art form shaped by emotion, identity and freedom. Today, Teatro Flamenco is helping that spirit reach even further by creating spaces where everyone can feel welcome, respected and represented.

Through its collaboration with Queer Destinations, Teatro Flamenco has completed specialised training focused on LGBTQ+ inclusion, inclusive hospitality and safer visitor experiences. This process goes beyond receiving a badge or certification. It represents a commitment shared by the teams who welcome visitors, the artists who take to the stage and the organisations that make each performance possible.

The result is a network of venues where culture, hospitality and inclusion come together as part of the same experience. Visitors can discover Teatro Flamenco Madrid, Teatro Flamenco Sevilla, Teatro Flamenco Málaga, Teatro Flamenco Granada and Teatro Flamenco Barcelona, each with its own atmosphere and local identity, while sharing a common commitment to respect and welcome.

This commitment was brought to the stage through “Ay, Amor, Amor!”, a special production created to celebrate diversity, emotional freedom and the right to love openly. Presented during Pride season, the show uses flamenco’s language of passion, vulnerability and strength to tell a story that belongs to everyone.

The production is more than a seasonal celebration. It reflects a broader idea: that flamenco can be a space where people feel seen, accepted and free to experience culture on their own terms. Through dance, music and storytelling, “Ay, Amor, Amor!” highlights the emotional power of an art form that has always been connected to expression, individuality and transformation.

For Queer Destinations, partnerships like this demonstrate what inclusive tourism looks like in practice. It means feeling comfortable when booking a ticket, being treated with respect on arrival, enjoying a performance without fear of judgement and knowing that different identities are not only accepted, but genuinely welcomed.

The collaboration between Queer Destinations and Teatro Flamenco shows how culture can become a powerful meeting point between travellers, local communities and LGBTQ+ people from around the world. Flamenco is not an art with a single voice. It is a living tradition, constantly evolving through the people who perform it, experience it and make space for others within it.

From Madrid to Seville, Málaga, Granada and Barcelona, Teatro Flamenco is helping ensure that the future of flamenco is as open, diverse and universal as the art itself.
